第34章 "Secrets in the Dark"

太古神王

**Chapter 34: The Shadow of Deceit**

As the silence stretched on, Qin Wentian's gaze remained fixed on Chu Ling'er's, his eyes burning with an unyielding intensity. Chu Ling'er's pupils constricted further, her face pale as she struggled to maintain her composure.

"Don't play dumb, Chu Ling'er," Qin Wentian's voice was low and menacing, his words dripping with disdain. "I know you're hiding something. What is it that you're so afraid to tell me?"

Chu Ling'er's lips curled into a cold, calculated smile. "I'm hiding nothing, Qin Wentian. You're just being paranoid."

Qin Wentian's eyes narrowed. "Don't lie to me, Chu Ling'er. I can sense it. You're hiding something, and I'll find out what it is."

Chu Ling'er's smile grew wider, her eyes flashing with a hint of malice. "You're so arrogant, Qin Wentian. You think you're the only one who can uncover secrets? I have my own ways of getting the truth."

The air was thick with tension as the two enemies locked eyes, the silence between them crackling with electricity. Qin Wentian's hand instinctively tightened into a fist, his knuckles white with rage.

Just as it seemed like the situation was about to escalate, a sudden commotion erupted outside, shattering the tense atmosphere. The sound of shattering glass and screams filled the air, followed by the chaos of running footsteps.

Qin Wentian's eyes flicked towards the commotion, his expression darkening. "Looks like someone's causing trouble," he growled, his hand relaxing as he turned back to Chu Ling'er.

Chu Ling'er's smile faltered, her eyes widening in alarm. "What's going on?" she whispered, her voice trembling.

Qin Wentian's gaze never left hers. "Don't worry about it. I'll take care of it."

With that, Qin Wentian leapt from his seat, his movements swift and deadly. Chu Ling'er's eyes followed him, her expression unreadable as she watched him disappear into the chaos outside.

As the sounds of conflict grew louder, a figure emerged from the shadows, watching the commotion with calculating eyes. It was a figure Qin Wentian had thought he'd eliminated: the traitor, Xue Fei.

Xue Fei's gaze locked onto Chu Ling'er, his eyes burning with a malevolent intensity. "Chu Ling'er, it seems your little secret is out," he hissed, his voice dripping with venom.

Chu Ling'er's eyes snapped towards Xue Fei, her face draining of color. "How did you...?"

Xue Fei's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with malice. "Let's just say I have my ways. And now, it seems Qin Wentian has no choice but to face the truth."

The air was thick with tension as the three enemies locked eyes, the fate of the world hanging precariously in the balance. Little did they know, a storm was brewing, one that would shatter the very fabric of reality.

And as the dust settled, Qin Wentian returned, his eyes blazing with fury. "Chu Ling'er, I knew it. You're hiding something. And now, I'll make sure you pay the price."

The silence was shattered by the sound of Qin Wentian's hand closing around Chu Ling'er's throat, his grip like a vice. Chu Ling'er's eyes widened in horror as she realized she was trapped, with no escape from the wrath of Qin Wentian.

"I'll show you what it means to cross me," Qin Wentian hissed, his voice dripping with venom.

And with that, the curtain fell, leaving the fate of Chu Ling'er and the world hanging in the balance.
