第101章 "Trust Shattered, Destiny Calls"

太古神王

**Chapter 101: The Betrayal of Trust**

Chu Ling'er's words cut through the air like a dagger, striking Qin Wentian's heart with a deep wound. He felt as though he had been punched in the gut, the air knocked out of him.

"You know I don't have a choice," Qin Wentian replied, his voice tinged with pain. "The fate of the world hangs in the balance. I must confront the ancient gods, no matter the cost."

Chu Ling'er's eyes flashed with anger, her face pale with fear. "You're going to face the gods alone? Did I mean nothing to you?"

Qin Wentian's gaze fell, shame and guilt mixing with the pain. "You know the truth, Ling'er. I've never been able to trust anyone, not even myself. But...I thought we had something special. Something worth fighting for."

Ling'er's face contorted in anguish. "You thought?! You thought?! How could you even say that? We were together, weren't we? We shared everything, our hopes and dreams, our fears and secrets."

Qin Wentian's eyes snapped back up, his gaze burning with determination. "I know that, Ling'er. And that's why I'm doing this. I'm doing it for us, for our future, for the world. I'll face the gods alone if it means saving everything we hold dear."

The air was heavy with the weight of their words, the tension between them palpable. Ling'er's eyes welled up with tears, her voice trembling.

"You're going to get yourself killed, Qin Wentian. I knew it from the start. You're too blind to see the truth. You're too proud to listen to reason."

Qin Wentian's face darkened, his jaw clenched in frustration. "I know what I'm doing, Ling'er. I know the risks. But I won't back down. I won't betray the trust of those who believe in me."

As the argument escalated, the silence around them seemed to grow thicker, a palpable force that threatened to suffocate them. The fate of the world hung in the balance, and Qin Wentian knew that he stood at the precipice of a great and treacherous journey.

And then, without warning, the silence was shattered by the sound of screams, echoing through the night air. The ground began to rumble, and the sky grew dark as the ancient gods descended, their wrath burning like a raging inferno.

Qin Wentian's eyes locked onto the approaching gods, his gaze burning with determination. "It begins," he whispered, his voice barely audible above the crashing thunder.

The world trembled as the age of the gods dawned, and Qin Wentian stood at the forefront of the maelstrom, his heart pounding with anticipation, his soul afire with the fury of the ancients.
