**96 Chapter: The Betrayal of Shadows**

Little Fifth's eyes locked onto Lin Feng, his mind reeling from the revelations. The ancient prophecy, the web of fate, it was all too much to take in. But he knew he had to focus, for his life was about to take a drastic turn.

"You're saying that the mysterious stranger is connected to my parents?" Little Fifth's voice was laced with a mix of excitement and trepidation.

Lin Feng nodded solemnly. "Yes, Little Fifth. The prophecy spoke of a great betrayal, and I fear that the stranger is the key to unlocking the secrets of your past."

Little Fifth's eyes narrowed as he thought back to the events that had transpired. The stranger, the one who had appeared out of nowhere, seemed to be hiding something. But what?

Just then, the door to the room burst open, and a figure strode in, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity.

"Ah, Lin Feng," the stranger drawled, his voice dripping with malice. "I see you've been telling our young friend about the prophecy."

Little Fifth's instincts screamed warning, and he instinctively reached for his sword. But to his surprise, Lin Feng remained calm, his eyes fixed on the stranger.

"I've told him nothing that wouldn't be useful for him to know," Lin Feng replied, his voice measured. "But I must warn you, stranger, your presence here is a betrayal of the highest order."

The stranger chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound. "Oh, Lin Feng, you're so quick to assume the worst. But I assure you, my intentions are pure."

Little Fifth's grip on his sword tightened as he sensed the weight of the situation. What was the stranger's true purpose? And why did Lin Feng seem so calm?

"I don't believe you," Little Fifth growled, his voice low and menacing.

The stranger's eyes flickered to Little Fifth, and for a moment, Little Fifth saw a glimmer of something there, something almost like... regret.

"Very well," the stranger said, his voice dripping with venom. "You want to know the truth? Fine. I'll tell you. But be warned, Little Fifth, once you know, there's no going back."

And with that, the stranger turned and strode out of the room, leaving Little Fifth with more questions than answers.

As the door closed behind the stranger, Lin Feng turned to Little Fifth, his eyes serious. "We need to leave, now. The shadows are closing in."

Little Fifth's heart raced as he nodded, his mind reeling with the implications of the stranger's words.

But as they turned to leave, Little Fifth caught a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye, something that made his heart skip a beat.

The stranger's words echoed in his mind, and Little Fifth knew that his life was about to take a drastic turn.

To be continued...
