第135章 "Victory's Bitter Taste"

龙血战神

**135 Chapter: The Fury Unbound - The Price of Victory**

Lin Feng stood tall, his chest heaving with exhaustion, as he gazed out at the battle-scarred landscape before him. The enemy citadel lay in ruins, its walls breached and its gates shattered. The once-proud stronghold now lay in smoldering ruins, a testament to the fury that had been unleashed upon it.

But as he gazed out at the carnage, Lin Feng's thoughts were far from triumphant. His mind was a maelstrom of conflicting emotions, his feelings of victory tempered by the knowledge of the price that had been paid.

"Hong Lian, are you alright?" he called out, his voice hoarse from the screaming and the smoke.

Hong Lian, still standing by his side, nodded wearily. Her eyes were red-rimmed, her face smeared with soot and blood. "I'm fine, Lin Feng," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lin Feng's gaze fell upon the carnage before him, his mind reeling with the sheer scale of the destruction. He had fought with every ounce of strength he possessed, fueled by the dragon's fury coursing through his veins. And yet, despite his best efforts, he knew that the true cost of this victory would only be revealed in the days to come.

As if sensing his thoughts, a figure emerged from the ruins of the citadel. It was the enemy commander, a towering giant of a man with a face twisted into a snarl of rage.

"You...you beast!" he spat, his voice venomous. "You may have won this battle, but you will pay for your victory!"

Lin Feng smiled grimly, his eyes flashing with warning. "I am not a beast, but a warrior. And I will not be swayed by the threats of a defeated foe."

The commander sneered, drawing his sword. "Then let us end this, once and for all!"

Lin Feng's eyes narrowed, his hand tightening around the hilt of his own sword. "I am ready. But be warned, commander...I will not go easy on you."

The two warriors clashed, their blades ringing out in a deadly rhythm. The battle was short and brutal, with Lin Feng emerging victorious once more. The commander fell to his knees, his eyes wide with shock and fear.

And as Lin Feng stood over him, his sword raised high, he knew that the true battle was only just beginning. The war between humans and dragons was far from over, and he could only hope that his victory would be enough to stem the tide of chaos that threatened to engulf the world.

But as he turned to leave, he felt a strange sensation coursing through his veins. The dragon's fury was subsiding, replaced by a sense of unease and foreboding.

"What's happening to me?" he whispered, his eyes scanning the horizon as a dark and foreboding storm cloud gathered on the horizon.

And as the storm approached, Lin Feng knew that he was in for the fight of his life. The fate of the world hung in the balance, and he was the only one who could save it.
