篮球大帝

**Chapter 70: The Parting of Ways**

Lin Feng's thoughts were a jumble of self-doubt and frustration as he trudged off the court, his eyes fixed on the worn-out basketball. He couldn't shake off the feeling that Coach Wang's words had cut deep into his psyche.

"What's wrong, Feng?" Coach Wang asked, his voice laced with concern, as he approached Lin Feng.

Lin Feng hesitated, unsure of how to articulate the turmoil brewing inside him. "I just feel like I'm stuck in a rut, Coach. I'm not playing like myself anymore."

Coach Wang's expression turned stern. "You're not playing like yourself? You're the best player I've ever seen, Feng. You're the one who always comes through in crunch time. What's changed?"

Lin Feng's eyes dropped, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know, Coach. I just feel like I'm not good enough anymore. Like I'm just going through the motions."

Coach Wang's face fell, his eyes flashing with disappointment. "Feng, you're better than this. You're giving up too easily."

Lin Feng's eyes snapped up, a surge of anger coursing through his veins. "I'm not giving up, Coach! I'm just...I don't know if I can do this anymore."

The air was thick with tension as the two stared each other down. Lin Feng could feel the weight of his teammates' eyes on him, sensing the turmoil brewing inside him.

"So, you're done, huh?" Coach Wang asked, his voice cold as ice. "You're done with basketball, done with the team?"

Lin Feng's heart sank, his voice barely above a whisper. "No, Coach...I just need some time to think, okay?"

Coach Wang's eyes narrowed. "You're not thinking, Feng. You're hiding behind excuses and fear. You're not the player I thought you were."

With that, Coach Wang turned on his heel and strode away, leaving Lin Feng standing alone on the court, the weight of his doubts and fears pressing down on him like a physical force.

As Lin Feng watched Coach Wang disappear into the locker room, a sense of panic crept up his spine. What was he doing? He was giving up, wasn't he? The doubts swirled in his mind like a maelstrom, threatening to consume him whole.

And just as he was about to turn and walk away from the court, he heard a voice behind him.

"Hey, Lin Feng. You okay?"

It was Zhang Wei, his teammate and friend. Lin Feng turned to face him, a mixture of emotions churning inside him.

"Zhang Wei...I don't know what's going on. I feel like I'm losing myself in this game. I don't know if I can keep going."

Zhang Wei's eyes locked onto his, filled with concern and understanding. "Feng, you're not alone. We're all here for you. We'll help you through this."

Lin Feng's eyes welled up with tears as he felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he wasn't alone after all. But as he turned to face Zhang Wei, he saw something in his friend's eyes that made his heart skip a beat.

Fear.

For the first time, Lin Feng realized that his teammates were scared too. Scared of losing him, scared of losing the team's momentum, scared of losing their chance at the championship.

And as the truth dawned on him, Lin Feng felt a spark of determination ignite within him. He would not give up. He would not let fear and doubt consume him. He would find a way to overcome, to rise above the doubts and fears and emerge stronger than ever.

But as he turned to face the court, he saw Coach Wang standing at the door, his expression stern and unyielding.

"Feng, you're done. You're off the team."

The words hung in the air like a challenge, as the curtain fell on Lin Feng's basketball career, leaving him with a choice: to walk away from the game forever, or to find a way to overcome the doubts and fears and reclaim his place on the court.
