**Chapter 24: The Web of Deceit**
Lin Feng's mind was still reeling from Jaxon's words. He couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to his intentions than met the eye. The phrase "protect yourself" echoed in his mind like a mantra, and he found himself constantly looking over his shoulder, wondering if Jaxon was just being paranoid or if there was indeed a hidden threat lurking in the shadows.
As he arrived at the training camp, Lin Feng was met with the familiar sight of his teammates warming up on the court. But his usual excitement and enthusiasm were dampened by the lingering doubt in his mind.
"Hey, Lin Feng, what's up?" his teammate and best friend, Wang Wei, asked, noticing the dark cloud hanging over Lin Feng's head.
"Just some stuff Jaxon said," Lin Feng replied, trying to brush it off.
Wang Wei's expression turned serious. "What did he say?"
Lin Feng hesitated before sharing Jaxon's concerns. "He thinks someone is trying to sabotage our team, and that I'm targeted for some reason."
Wang Wei's eyes widened in alarm. "That's crazy! We've been playing together for years, Lin Feng. Why would anyone want to sabotage us?"
"I don't know," Lin Feng admitted, feeling a sense of unease creeping up his spine. "But Jaxon was so serious about it. He even said that our coach might be involved."
Wang Wei's eyes narrowed. "That's ridiculous. Coach never would do anything to harm the team."
Lin Feng sighed. "I know it sounds crazy, but what if Jaxon is right? What if there is a traitor among us?"
Wang Wei's expression turned grim. "We need to investigate this. Let's dig deeper and see if we can find any evidence."
As they began to chat with the other players, Lin Feng couldn't help but notice the way they looked at him, as if they were sizing him up. He felt a shiver run down his spine as he realized that Jaxon's words had planted a seed of doubt in his mind. Was Jaxon's warning just a paranoid fantasy, or was there indeed something sinister lurking beneath the surface?
As the training session began, Lin Feng's mind was elsewhere, his thoughts consumed by the web of deceit that seemed to be unraveling before him. He knew he had to be careful, but he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was walking into a trap, and that the next move would be a crucial one.
The game was on, and Lin Feng was determined to uncover the truth, no matter the cost. But as he gazed out at the court, he couldn't help but wonder: was he ready to face the unknown, or would he be the next to fall prey to the unseen enemy?
