**Chapter 148: The Devil's Price**

Lin Feng's eyes scanned the room, his mind still reeling from the memories that had just flooded him. The smoke-filled air seemed to swirl around him, and he felt a sense of unease growing in his chest.

Suddenly, the door creaked open, and a figure emerged from the shadows. It was an old man, his face twisted in a cruel grin.

"Ah, Lin Feng," the old man said, his voice dripping with malice. "I see you're remembering. Good. Good."

Lin Feng's instincts screamed at him to get away, but his legs felt heavy, as if rooted to the spot.

"What do you want?" Lin Feng demanded, trying to keep his voice steady.

The old man chuckled, a cold, mirthless sound. "Oh, I just want to collect on a little debt. You see, you've got something that belongs to me. Something I'm willing to do just about anything to get back."

Lin Feng's heart raced as the old man pulled out a small, ornate box. He opened it, revealing a small, glowing crystal inside.

"Ah, yes," the old man said, his eyes gleaming with greed. "The memories. The powers. All of it. And I want it all back."

Lin Feng's mind was racing. He knew he had to get away, but how? The old man seemed to have the upper hand, and Lin Feng felt like he was trapped in a nightmare from which he couldn't awaken.

"You're not going anywhere, Lin Feng," the old man sneered. "Not until you pay the price."

As the old man spoke, the room began to fade away, and Lin Feng felt himself being pulled back into the memories. He saw himself as a young boy, his parents' faces distorted in a mixture of anger and sadness.

But before he could process what was happening, the old man's voice boomed in his ear, jolting him back to the present.

"Time's running out, Lin Feng," the old man said, his eyes burning with an otherworldly intensity. "You have one choice: agree to my terms, or forfeit the memories forever."

Lin Feng's eyes locked onto the old man's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other. The tension was palpable, and Lin Feng knew that the outcome was far from certain.

And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, everything went black.

---

As the darkness receded, Lin Feng found himself back in his own bed, his heart pounding in his chest. He was breathing heavily, as if he had just run a marathon. But as he sat up, he realized that it wasn't just his physical body that had suffered. His mind was reeling, his thoughts a jumbled mess of memories and emotions.

And then, he saw it. A small, glowing crystal perched on the edge of his bed. It was the same crystal that the old man had shown him, the one that held the memories and powers of the past.

Lin Feng's eyes widened as he stared at the crystal. What did it mean? Was it a gift? A curse?

And then, as he looked closer, he saw something that made his blood run cold. The crystal was pulsing, and on its surface, a small message was etched.

"The Devil's Price: One Game, One Chance, One Life."

Lin Feng's heart stopped. What did it mean? And what lay ahead?

The outcome was far from certain, but one thing was clear: the game was on.
