第108章 "Victory's Bitter Taste"

九星霸体诀

**Chapter 108: The Weight of Victory**

Chen Beixuan's eyes slowly lifted from Xuan Yuchen's lifeless body, his gaze sweeping across the darkening forest. The silence was oppressive, punctuated only by the distant howling of wolves. He took a deep breath, the taste of victory still bitter on his tongue.

"Xuan Yuchen, you underestimated the power of the Qiu Family," Chen Beixuan muttered to himself, his voice barely audible over the wind. He spat on the ground, a gesture of defiance towards the fallen tyrant.

As he turned to leave, a sudden rustling in the underbrush caught his attention. Chen Beixuan's instincts screamed warning, his hand instinctively dropping to the hilt of his sword. A figure emerged from the darkness, cloaked in shadows.

"Who are you?" Chen Beixuan growled, his voice low and menacing.

The figure stepped forward, revealing a woman with piercing green eyes and jet-black hair. She wore a simple white robe, the fabric stained with dirt and blood.

"I am Qi Lingyun, a member of the Xuan Family," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "And I've come to avenge my family's shame."

Chen Beixuan's eyes narrowed. "You're too late. Xuan Yuchen is dead, and the Xuan Family is in shambles."

Qi Lingyun's face twisted in rage. "You think you're so powerful, don't you, Chen Beixuan? But you're nothing but a pitiful little man who's stumbled into greatness."

Chen Beixuan's hand tightened around his sword hilt. "And you think you're qualified to challenge me?"

Qi Lingyun smiled, a cold, calculated smile. "I'm the only one who can stop you, Chen Beixuan. The only one who can put an end to this charade."

The air was electric with tension as the two stood facing each other, the forest around them growing darker and more menacing. Chen Beixuan could feel the weight of victory bearing down on him, but he knew that Qi Lingyun was not one to be underestimated.

"You're right," Chen Beixuan said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I'll give you that. You're the only one who can stop me. But are you prepared to pay the price?"

Qi Lingyun's eyes flashed with determination. "I've come this far. I'm not turning back now."

Chen Beixuan's smile grew wider, a cold, calculating glint in his eyes. "Then let's see who comes out on top, Qi Lingyun. Let's see who's the true master of the Xuan Family."

And with that, the two clashed, their blades meeting in a shower of sparks as the forest around them erupted into chaos.
