剑道独尊

**78章:The Burden of the Past**

Chen Yang's eyes never wavered, his gaze piercing through the veil of Lin Feng's sincerity. The air was heavy with the weight of their tumultuous history, the unspoken words hanging like a storm cloud above their heads.

"You said you've been searching for me for years," Chen Yang's voice was low and even, his words dripping with venom. "But what about the years you spent with the Blue Dragon Sect? What about the lies you told, the secrets you kept?"

Lin Feng's jaw clenched, his knuckles whitening as he gripped the armrests of his chair. He knew that Chen Yang had every right to be angry, to question his motives and his loyalty.

"I was young and foolish," Lin Feng admitted, his voice rough with emotion. "I was desperate to prove myself, to show that I was worthy of your trust. I made mistakes, Chen Yang, but I never betrayed our bond. Never."

Chen Yang's eyes flashed with skepticism, his lips curling into a sneer. "Then why did you join the Blue Dragon Sect? Why did you become their favored disciple?"

Lin Feng's eyes dropped, his gaze falling to the floor as the weight of his past mistakes crashed down upon him. He knew that he had let Chen Yang down, that he had failed to uphold their oaths and their bond.

"I was chasing power," Lin Feng whispered, his voice barely audible. "I was blinded by ambition, by the desire to surpass you. I thought that by joining the Blue Dragon Sect, I could achieve something greater, something that would prove my worth to you, to the world."

Chen Yang's laughter was cold and mirthless, his eyes glinting with a hint of sadness. "You've always been a complicated person, Lin Feng. But I never thought you'd stoop so low as to betray your own bloodline."

The words stung, Lin Feng's face twisting in anguish as he felt the sting of Chen Yang's betrayal. He knew that he had let his pride get the better of him, that he had allowed his ambition to cloud his judgment.

But before he could respond, the door to the chamber burst open, a group of heavily armed guards storming in, their swords drawn.

"Chen Yang, you're under arrest," one of the guards barked, his voice cold and detached.

Chen Yang's eyes snapped to Lin Feng, a glint of understanding flickering between them. Lin Feng knew that he had to act fast, to protect Chen Yang from the machinations of the Blue Dragon Sect.

"Withdraw your swords," Lin Feng commanded, his voice low and even. "This isn't the place for bloodshed."

The guards hesitated, their hesitation giving Lin Feng the opening he needed. He leapt forward, his hands flying out to grab the guards, his movements swift and silent as a ghost.

The battle was intense, the guards fighting desperately to subdue Chen Yang. But Lin Feng was a master of the sword, his movements swift and deadly as he took down the guards one by one.

As the last guard fell, Lin Feng turned to Chen Yang, his eyes blazing with a fierce determination.

"It's over," he said, his voice rough with emotion. "We need to get out of here, now."

Chen Yang nodded, his eyes locked on Lin Feng's, a hint of understanding flickering between them. Together, they fled the chamber, the burden of their past mistakes hanging heavy in the air like a storm cloud.
