剑道独尊

**Chapter 35: The Web of Truth**

Chen Yang's eyes seemed to bore into the girl's very soul as he probed deeper into the web of lies she had spun. The silence between them was palpable, thickening like a fog that refused to lift.

"You're hiding something from me," Chen Yang's voice was low and even, the words laced with an air of quiet menace. "Something big."

The girl's eyes flashed with a mix of fear and defiance as she struggled to maintain her composure. "I'm not hiding anything," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the pounding of her heart.

Chen Yang's gaze never wavered. "Don't lie to me," he warned, his grip on the hilt of his sword tightening. "I can see the truth in your eyes. You're hiding something, and I aim to find out what it is."

The girl's eyes dropped, her gaze falling to the ground as she struggled to come up with a plausible excuse. But Chen Yang was not fooled. He could see the cracks in her facade, the faintest glimmer of guilt flickering in her eyes like a candle in the wind.

"I'll tell you the truth," she whispered finally, her voice trembling with fear. "But you have to promise me one thing."

Chen Yang's eyes narrowed. "What's that?"

The girl's eyes rose to meet his, a fleeting glimmer of determination sparking in their depths. "You have to promise me that you won't hurt anyone else," she said, her voice firm.

Chen Yang's expression remained impassive, but a spark of curiosity ignited in his chest. What could she be hiding that was so valuable, so precious, that she would risk everything to keep it secret?

"I'll make you a deal," he said finally, his voice dripping with skepticism. "I'll listen to what you have to say, but you have to tell me the truth. No lies, no evasions. You have one minute to spill your guts."

The girl's eyes flashed with a mix of relief and trepidation as she took a deep breath. "It's about my father," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "He's in danger, and I don't know who to turn to."

Chen Yang's eyes locked onto hers, his grip on the hilt of his sword tightening as he sensed the weight of her secrets. He could feel the threads of deceit unraveling, exposing the dark secrets that lay beneath.

"What do you mean?" he asked, his voice low and even.

The girl's eyes dropped, her gaze falling to the ground as she struggled to find the words. But Chen Yang didn't give her a chance. He leaned in, his face inches from hers, his eyes burning with intensity.

"Tell me," he whispered, his voice like a razor's edge. "Tell me the truth."

And with that, the web of lies was torn asunder, revealing the dark secrets that lay hidden beneath. But as Chen Yang's eyes locked onto hers, he knew that this was only the beginning. The truth was a double-edged sword, capable of cutting both ways. And he was about to find out that the price of silence was higher than he ever could have imagined...
