第154章 "Double-Edged Deception"

都市之最强狂兵

**Chapter 154: The Game of Shadows (Part 45)**

Lin Feng's eyes blazing with fury, he leaned forward, his voice low and menacing. "You're telling me that the entire time, you were playing both sides against each other?"

Xiao Zhan's expression remained calm, his voice steady as he replied, "I didn't lie to you, Lin Feng. I did what needed to be done to protect our interests."

The room was silent, the only sound the creaking of the broken coffee cups on the floor. Lin Feng's face contorted in rage, his muscles tensed as if ready to pounce. Xiao Zhan, on the other hand, seemed impervious to the storm brewing before him.

"How could you, Xiao Zhan?" Lin Feng's voice rose, incredulous. "You're my ally, my friend. How could you betray me like this?"

Xiao Zhan's eyes never wavered, his gaze steady and cold. "I didn't betray you, Lin Feng. I protected our interests. And if you had listened more carefully, you would have understood that."

Lin Feng's face turned red with rage, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles were white. "You're just as treacherous as the government, using me as a pawn in your game!"

Xiao Zhan's smile was a thin, cold line. "The government may be many things, but at least they're honest about their intentions. You, on the other hand, are so blinded by your own ego and pride that you can't see the big picture."

The words cut deep, and Lin Feng's anger boiled over. He slammed his fist on the table again, sending shards of glass flying everywhere. Xiao Zhan didn't flinch, his eyes never leaving Lin Feng's face.

Suddenly, the lights in the room began to flicker, and the air was charged with an electric tension. The atmosphere was thick with the promise of violence, and it seemed as if the very fate of their alliance hung in the balance.

"Xiao Zhan," Lin Feng growled, his face inches from the other man's. "I don't know what kind of game you're playing, but I'm not going to let you win. I'll crush you and your treachery, no matter what it takes."

Xiao Zhan's smile never wavered, but his eyes flashed with warning. "That's not a threat, Lin Feng. That's a promise. And I'll be waiting for you, when you decide to make good on it."

The room fell silent once more, the only sound the ticking of the clock and the heavy breathing of the two men. It seemed as if the very fabric of their alliance was about to tear apart, and nothing would ever be the same again.
