第107章 "Deadly Nightshade Pact"

都市之最强狂兵

**Chapter 107: The Unexpected Alliance (Part 2)**

Xiao Zhan's gaze never wavered, his mind still reeling from the unexpected encounter. Lin Feng, his arch-nemesis, was the last person he expected to run into in the dead of night. The tension between them was palpable, like a spark waiting to ignite.

"Why are you here, Lin Feng?" Xiao Zhan's voice was low and even, but his eyes betrayed the curiosity and suspicion simmering beneath the surface.

Lin Feng smiled, his eyes glinting with a mischievous light. "Oh, just passing through. I heard rumors of a certain 'Shadow' operating in these parts. I had to come and pay my respects."

Xiao Zhan's expression darkened. "What do you want, Lin Feng? You're not exactly the type to pay visits out of the kindness of your heart."

Lin Feng chuckled, his voice dripping with amusement. "Let's just say I have a proposition for you, Xiao Zhan. One that could benefit both of us... and eliminate some of our, shall we say, 'mutual enemies'."

Xiao Zhan's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with the possibilities. He knew Lin Feng was a master manipulator, always playing both sides against each other to further his own interests. But something about this encounter felt different, like the cards were being shuffled in a way that didn't favor either of them.

"I'm listening," Xiao Zhan said, his voice laced with caution.

Lin Feng pulled out a folder from his pocket, its contents rustling softly. "As you know, the city is a powder keg of power struggles and rivalries. I have information that could help you take down your enemies and secure your position. But in return, I need something from you."

Xiao Zhan's eyes scanned the folder, his gut telling him that this was a trap. But Lin Feng's words had piqued his interest. What could the man possibly have that would be worth the risk?

"What do you want from me?" Xiao Zhan asked, his voice firm but controlled.

Lin Feng's smile grew wider, his eyes glinting with calculation. "Oh, just a small favor. A little... insurance policy, shall we say. One that would ensure our little arrangement remains... mutually beneficial."

Xiao Zhan's instincts screamed at him to get out, to trust no one. But Lin Feng's words had stirred something deep within him, a desire to finally take down his enemies and claim his rightful place in the city.

"What do you propose?" Xiao Zhan asked, his voice low and deadly.

Lin Feng's eyes locked onto Xiao Zhan's, his gaze piercing like a knife. "Let's just say I have a little bet with some... friends. A bet that if you agree to help me, I'll make sure you come out on top. But if you refuse... well, let's just say you won't be the only one making a hostile takeover."

The air was thick with tension as Xiao Zhan's eyes clashed with Lin Feng's. The stakes were higher than ever before, and the outcome hung precariously in the balance.
