**Chapter 95: "The Trap is Set"**

I had been searching for Nightshade for hours, but every lead I followed ended in a dead end. I was starting to lose hope, wondering if I had misjudged her all along. Just as I was about to give up, I heard a faint noise coming from the shadows. I drew my gun, my senses on high alert.

"Who's there?" I called out, my voice low and even.

A figure emerged from the darkness, Nightshade's piercing green eyes locked onto mine. "You're still looking for me, Shadow?" she said, a hint of amusement in her voice.

I narrowed my eyes, trying to read her expression. "What's going on, Nightshade? Why did you disappear without a word?"

Nightshade shrugged, a careless smile playing on her lips. "I had some... matters to attend to. Personal business."

I raised an eyebrow, skepticism written all over my face. Personal business? With her reputation for being a master of manipulation, I didn't believe a word she said.

"Nightshade, I know you're not telling me the whole truth," I accused, my gun still trained on her.

She laughed, a low, husky sound that sent a shiver down my spine. "Oh, Shadow, you're so predictable. I'm not hiding anything from you. At least, not yet."

I tensed, my grip on my gun tightening. What did she mean by that? Was she trying to threaten me, or was she just playing games?

Suddenly, the lights in the warehouse flickered and died, plunging us into darkness. I cursed under my breath, disoriented. Nightshade, however, seemed to know exactly where she was going. She moved with silent ease, disappearing into the shadows.

I followed close behind, my senses on high alert. Where was she going? What was she planning?

As I moved deeper into the darkness, I realized that I was getting caught up in Nightshade's web of deceit. But I couldn't help myself. I had to know what she was hiding, what secrets she was keeping from me.

And then, just as I thought I had her cornered, Nightshade appeared out of nowhere, a gun pressed against my temple. I froze, my heart pounding in my chest.

"You should have stayed out of this, Shadow," she whispered, her breath cold against my skin.

And with that, everything went black.
