第85章 "Shadow's Deceit Unmasked"

谍影风云

**Chapter 85: "The Betrayal"**

I pushed aside the tattered curtain, revealing a narrow alleyway that seemed to stretch on forever. Nightshade was nowhere to be seen, but I could sense her presence, lurking in the shadows. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the darkness, dressed in a long coat, face twisted in a sinister grin.

"Ah, Lin, I've been waiting for you," he said, his voice dripping with malice.

My hand instinctively went to my gun, but I hesitated. This was no ordinary enemy. He was one of the most powerful men in the organization, and I knew that he would stop at nothing to eliminate me.

"I see you've found our little meet-up spot," he continued, his eyes glinting with amusement. "But I'm afraid you're too late. Nightshade has betrayed us."

My heart sank. I couldn't believe it. Nightshade, my trusted ally, my friend. I felt a surge of anger and betrayal.

"What do you mean?" I demanded, my voice cold and deadly.

"She's been working with us all along," he sneered. "You're just a pawn in her game, Lin. A pawn that we're about to dispose of."

I knew I had to act fast. I couldn't let them get away with this. I drew my gun, aiming it at the man's head.

"You're going down," I said, my finger tightening on the trigger.

But before I could pull the trigger, a figure burst into the alleyway, gun blazing. Nightshade. She was fighting the man's men, taking them down one by one.

"Lin, get out of here!" she yelled, her voice echoing off the walls.

I didn't need to be told twice. I turned and ran, leaving the chaos behind. But I knew I couldn't outrun this. I had to find a way to take down Nightshade and her traitorous allies once and for all.

As I disappeared into the night, I knew that this was just the beginning of a long and bloody fight. The stakes were higher than ever before, and only one of us would emerge victorious.

But who would it be? Only time would tell.
