第49章 "Deception's Shadow"

谍影风云

**Chapter 49: "The Betrayal of Trust"**

I glared at Li, my eyes blazing with anger and betrayal. "You lied to me, Li. You lied to me all along."

Li's expression was calm, almost serene. "What are you talking about, Shadow?"

"Don't play dumb, Li," I snapped. "You're not as good as you think you are. I know what you've been hiding."

Li's eyes narrowed. "What are you referring to?"

"The fake ID, the forged documents, the entire charade," I spat. "You've been playing me like a fool all these years."

Li sighed, his eyes flashing with a hint of annoyance. "Shadow, you're being paranoid. I've been working with you, for you, for the sake of our mission."

"Save it, Li," I growled. "I know the truth now. You're a double agent, working for the enemy."

Li's face twisted in a mixture of surprise and anger. "How dare you, Shadow! You're just a foolish child, blinded by your own emotions."

I felt a surge of adrenaline as I stood up, my fists clenched. "I'll never forgive you, Li. You've betrayed me, and you'll pay the price."

But before I could attack, Li grabbed my arm, his grip like steel. "Shadow, stop. You're making a huge mistake."

I shook him off, my eyes filled with tears of rage. "Get out, Li. Get out of my sight."

Li hesitated, then turned and walked away, leaving me alone with my anger and my doubts.

As I stood there, I couldn't help but wonder if I had been wrong all along. Had Li really been working against me, or was this just a clever trick to get me to reveal my true intentions?

I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. I knew I had to be cautious, to think clearly. But as I looked around the room, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched, that Li was waiting for me to make my next move.

And then, I saw it. A small note on the desk, a message from Li. "Meet me at the old warehouse at midnight. Come alone."

I felt a chill run down my spine as I read the words. What did Li want from me now? And what lay in store for me at the old warehouse?

I looked around the room, but I was alone. The only sound was the ticking of the clock, counting down the minutes until midnight.

And I knew I had to be there.
