第132章 "Shadows Speak"

谍影风云

**Chapter 132: "The Whispering Walls"**

I walked around the room, trying to shake off the feeling of unease that lingered within me. The dim lighting and musty smell only added to the sense of unease, making my skin crawl. I stopped in front of a wall, my eyes scanning the old, peeling paint, as if searching for answers.

"Lin?" a soft voice whispered, making me spin around.

I hesitated for a moment, my heart racing, before slowly turning back to face the speaker. It was the woman from before, her eyes piercing and intense.

"How did you get in here?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady.

"I've been watching you, Lin," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "I know what you're looking for. You're searching for your true identity, aren't you?"

I felt a shiver run down my spine. How did she know?

"How do you know?" I asked, my mind racing with possibilities.

"You're who you are because of me," she said, her words dripping with an air of superiority. "You're a puppet, Lin. A puppet controlled by the strings of my creation."

I felt a wave of anger wash over me, but before I could react, she continued speaking.

"You're just a memory, created to serve a purpose. And now, that purpose is changed."

I took a step forward, my fists clenched in frustration. "What are you talking about?"

She smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "You're going to find out soon enough. But for now, let's just focus on your next mission."

My eyes narrowed. "Mission? You're talking about a mission?"

She nodded. "Yes, Lin. Your next mission. And it's one that will change everything."

I felt a chill run down my spine as she handed me a folder filled with classified documents. "Read this," she said. "And then, you'll understand everything."

I took the folder, my heart racing with anticipation. What lay ahead? What secrets would I uncover? And what would be the cost of my next mission?
