第100章 "Shadows in the Rain"
谍影风云
**Chapter 100: "The Silent Assassin"**
I took a deep breath, the cold air filling my lungs. I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was being watched. The rain continued to pour down, making every sound seem like a potential threat. I adjusted my position, trying to get a better view of my surroundings.
"Lin, you're late," a low voice whispered in the darkness.
I spun around, my hand instinctively reaching for my gun. But I saw no one. The voice seemed to come from all around me.
"Who's there?" I demanded, trying to keep my voice steady.
There was no response. The rain grew louder, and I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was a woman, her face obscured by a hoodie and sunglasses. She moved with an eerie silence, like a ghost.
"Who are you?" I repeated, trying to keep my gun trained on her.
She didn't answer. Instead, she pulled off her sunglasses, revealing piercing green eyes that seemed to bore into my soul.
"You're the one who sent the message," I said, my mind racing.
She nodded, her eyes never leaving mine.
"Why did you want to meet me?" I asked, trying to stay focused.
She smiled, a cold, calculated smile. "Because I want to make a deal with you, Lin. A deal that will change everything."
I raised an eyebrow, my instincts screaming at me to be cautious.
"What kind of deal?" I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral.
She leaned in, her voice dropping to a whisper. "I have information about Night Raptor. Information that could bring him down."
I felt a surge of adrenaline, my heart racing with excitement.
"What kind of information?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
She smiled again, her eyes glinting with mischief. "That's for me to know and you to find out. But be warned, Lin. If you don't do as I say, you'll never see the light of day again."
I felt a chill run down my spine, but I knew I had to play along. I nodded, my mind racing with possibilities.
"Okay, deal," I said, trying to sound calm.
She nodded, her eyes never leaving mine. "Good. I'll send you the information. And remember, Lin... in this game, loyalty is everything."
With that, she vanished into the night, leaving me with more questions than answers. Who was this mysterious woman? And what did she want from me?
I stood there for a moment, trying to process what had just happened. And then, without thinking, I took off into the darkness, determined to uncover the truth about Night Raptor and the web of deceit that had been spun around me.
But little did I know, I was walking into a trap...
