第78章 "A Thousand Years of Deceit"

重生之都市仙尊

Chapter 78: The Web of Revenge

Jiang Wanshan's eyes narrowed as he watched Lin Qingxue take a step closer to him. Her hands were clenched into fists, and her breath came in short gasps. He could sense the turmoil brewing inside her, a storm waiting to unleash its wrath.

"You've been waiting for this moment for a thousand years?" Jiang Wanshan repeated, his voice dripping with skepticism. "I think you're mistaken, Lin Qingxue. You're not the one who's been wronged here. I am."

Lin Qingxue's face twisted in a snarl. "You think you're the victim, don't you, Jiang Wanshan? You think you're the one who's been wronged. But you're just as guilty as my father. You're just as responsible for my mother's death."

Jiang Wanshan's expression remained impassive, but his eyes flashed with a hint of anger. "Your mother was a foolish woman, Lin Qingxue. She didn't know how to keep her place. And neither did you."

Lin Qingxue's eyes blazed with fury. "You'll pay for what you've done, Jiang Wanshan. You'll pay for all the suffering you've caused me and my family."

Jiang Wanshan shrugged. "I'm not afraid of you, Lin Qingxue. You're just a broken woman with a grudge against the world. You're weak and pathetic."

Lin Qingxue's face contorted in rage. She lunged at Jiang Wanshan, her fists flying. But he was too quick for her. He dodged her blows with ease, his movements swift and precise.

As they struggled, a crowd began to gather around them. People stared in shock and amazement as two of the city's most powerful figures clashed in a fit of rage.

Just as Lin Qingxue was about to land a devastating blow, Jiang Wanshan suddenly stopped her. He grasped her wrist and pulled her close, his eyes blazing with intensity.

"You're wrong, Lin Qingxue," he whispered, his voice low and menacing. "I'm not afraid of you. But I am afraid of what you might do to me if you get too close."

Lin Qingxue's eyes widened in horror as she realized what he was implying. She struggled against his grip, but he held her fast.

And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the battle ceased. Jiang Wanshan released Lin Qingxue and stepped back, his eyes cold and calculating.

"You've had your fun, Lin Qingxue," he said, his voice dripping with contempt. "But now it's time to stop playing games and face the consequences of your actions."

As the crowd dispersed, Lin Qingxue glared at Jiang Wanshan with a mixture of hatred and fear. She knew that she had underestimated him, and that she was now at his mercy.

But Jiang Wanshan just smiled, his eyes glinting with triumph. He had won this battle, but he knew that the war was far from over.

And as he turned to leave, Lin Qingxue's eyes burned with a fierce determination. She would not stop until she had destroyed him, and brought him to justice.

The web of revenge was still unfolding, and the outcome was far from certain. But one thing was clear: only one of them would emerge victorious in the end.
