第57章 "Wrath Unleashed"

重生之都市仙尊

**57th Chapter: The Web of Revenge**

The air was electric with tension as Jiang Wanshan's anger finally boiled over. "How dare you!" he snarled, his eyes flashing with fury. Lin Qingxue stood firm, her expression unyielding.

"You...you're no better than them," she spat, her voice laced with venom. Jiang Wanshan's face twisted in a snarl, his hands clenched into fists.

"How? How am I no better?" he growled, his voice low and menacing.

"You abandoned me," Lin Qingxue accused, her eyes blazing with tears. "You vowed to protect me, to guide me on the path of cultivation. But when I needed you most, you turned your back on me."

Jiang Wanshan's expression darkened, his eyes burning with a mixture of anger and sorrow. "I didn't abandon you, Ling'er," he said, his voice heavy with regret. "I was forced to leave, to protect you from the consequences of my own failure."

Lin Qingxue laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You always were so full of excuses," she sneered. "But I'm not buying it. You're just as guilty as the others."

Jiang Wanshan's eyes flashed with a fierce light, his face contorted in a snarl. "You don't know what I had to do," he spat. "You don't know the price I had to pay."

Lin Qingxue's eyes narrowed, her grip on her sword tightening. "Tell me, then," she said, her voice dripping with venom. "Tell me what you had to do to abandon me."

Jiang Wanshan's eyes seemed to bore into hers, his expression cold and calculating. "I had to make a choice," he said, his voice low and even. "A choice between you and the fate of the world."

Lin Qingxue's face paled, her eyes wide with shock. "What are you talking about?" she whispered.

Jiang Wanshan's smile was cold and calculated. "You'll find out soon enough," he said, his eyes flashing with a sinister light. "But for now, let's just say that I've been playing a very long game, Ling'er. And you're just a pawn in my web of revenge."

As he spoke, the air in the room seemed to grow thick and heavy, the weight of his words sinking like a stone into Lin Qingxue's chest. She felt a cold dread creeping up her spine, a sense of unease that she couldn't shake.

And then, in an instant, Jiang Wanshan vanished, leaving Lin Qingxue standing alone in the darkness, her heart pounding with fear.

What had he meant by his words? What game was he playing? And what did it have to do with her?

The questions swirled in her mind like a vortex, drawing her deeper into the web of revenge. And as she stood there, frozen in uncertainty, she knew that she was in grave danger.

For in the world of the ancient gods, the game of revenge was a deadly business. And Lin Qingxue was just a pawn in a game that would change the course of her life forever.
