第131章 "Shadows of Deceit"

重生之都市仙尊

**131st Chapter: The Aftermath of Betrayal**

The air was thick with tension as Lin Qingxue's words hung in the silence like a challenge. Jiang Wanshan's eyes narrowed, his gaze still piercing, as if daring her to take back her confession. The weight of her betrayal was crushing, and the Master's calm exterior was beginning to crack.

"You...you really did it," Jiang Wanshan's voice was low and deadly, his tone dripping with venom. "You played me like a fool, using me to further your own power. And for what? So you could become the next Master?"

Lin Qingxue winced at the harsh words, her eyes pleading for mercy. "Jiang Wanshan, please...you must understand—"

"Understand?" Jiang Wanshan's laughter was cold and mirthless. "There's nothing to understand. You were my trusted disciple, my friend. And you betrayed that trust like a snake slithering through the grass."

The Master's words cut deep, and Lin Qingxue's face crumpled under the weight of her shame. "I'm sorry, Jiang Wanshan...I didn't mean to hurt you..."

Jiang Wanshan's eyes flashed with anger, his fists clenched at his sides. "Sorry?" He spat out the word like it was poison. "Your sorry isn't enough. You've destroyed everything I built, everything I believed in."

The room fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two combatants. The air was heavy with the weight of betrayal, and the Master's rage was palpable.

Just as it seemed like Jiang Wanshan was about to lose control, a knock at the door broke the tension. It was one of his disciples, a worried look on his face.

"Master, we've received a message from the City Lord's office. They're summoning you to the palace for a meeting."

Jiang Wanshan's eyes never left Lin Qingxue's face, his voice cold and detached. "Tell the City Lord I'll be there. But don't bother waiting for me. I have unfinished business to attend to."

And with that, Jiang Wanshan turned and strode out of the room, leaving Lin Qingxue to face the consequences of her betrayal alone. The door closed behind him, and the silence was oppressive, heavy with the weight of the Master's wrath.

But as Lin Qingxue looked around at the ruins of their friendship, she knew she wasn't out of the woods yet. Jiang Wanshan had promised to take care of her, and she had a feeling she would be facing his wrath soon enough...
