Chapter 93: "The Hidden Truth"

Chen Yang's eyes narrowed as he gazed at Lin Xuan's evasive expression. He could sense that there was more to the story than what Lin Xuan was willing to reveal. "I have the right to know the truth about your relationship with Ou Yang Hao," he pressed on, his voice firm but controlled.

Lin Xuan's face turned pale as he seemed to be weighing his options. For a moment, Chen Yang thought he was going to say something, but instead, he simply shook his head. "I'm warning you, Chen Yang, you're not supposed to be involved in this."

Chen Yang's grip on the table tightened as he leaned forward, his eyes blazing with determination. "I don't care about your warnings. I want to know what's going on."

Just as it seemed like Lin Xuan was about to reveal something, the door to the office burst open and a frantic-looking nurse rushed in. "Dr. Lin, we need your help! The patient in room 304 is in critical condition!"

Lin Xuan's expression changed in an instant, from evasive to urgent. "What happened?"

The nurse's eyes darted between Lin Xuan and Chen Yang before she replied, "I'm not sure, but the patient was fine just a few minutes ago. Suddenly, their vital signs plummeted and they started experiencing severe allergic reactions."

Chen Yang's instincts kicked in as he jumped up from his seat. "I need to see the patient now."

Lin Xuan nodded curtly and led the way out of the office, with Chen Yang hot on his heels. As they rushed to the patient's room, Chen Yang's mind was racing with possibilities. Was this some kind of connection to the mysterious events that had been happening at the hospital? And what did Lin Xuan know that he didn't?

As they entered the room, Chen Yang was hit with the pungent smell of disinfectant and the sound of beeping machines. The patient, a young woman, lay motionless on the bed, her skin pale and clammy. Chen Yang's eyes scanned the room, taking in the chaos and confusion.

Dr. Tan, the head of surgery, was already there, examining the patient with a look of concern. "What happened?" Chen Yang asked, his voice calm and authoritative.

Dr. Tan turned to Chen Yang, his eyes grave. "I don't know, but I think it's related to the strange occurrences we've been experiencing lately. We need to figure out what's going on and fast."

Chen Yang's eyes locked onto Lin Xuan's, a silent understanding passing between them. They both knew that there was more to this than met the eye, and they were determined to get to the bottom of it.

As they began to work together to save the patient's life, Chen Yang couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. He glanced around the room, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Still, the sensation persisted, making him wonder if there was someone lurking in the shadows, waiting for their chance to strike.

As the tension built, Chen Yang's thoughts were interrupted by a faint whisper in his ear: "You're getting close to the truth, Dr. Chen. But are you prepared for what you might find?"

Chen Yang spun around, but there was no one there. The whisper seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere at the same time. He shivered, despite himself, and focused on the task at hand. But the question lingered in his mind: what secrets were they about to uncover, and at what cost?

To be continued...
