**160章:“The Price of Betrayal”**

Chen Yang's eyes scanned the crowded streets, his mind racing with thoughts of vengeance. How could Lin Xuan, his supposed friend, betray him like this? The memory of their shared laughter and late-night conversations seemed like a distant dream now.

As he walked, he stumbled upon a small café. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted out, enticing him to enter. Chen Yang hesitated for a moment before pushing open the door. The warm light and comforting atmosphere were a welcome respite from the turmoil in his mind.

He spotted a familiar face behind the counter – Dr. Zhou, an old friend and colleague from the hospital. Chen Yang's instincts told him to leave, but he was drawn to the warm smile on Dr. Zhou's face.

"Long time no see, Chen Yang!" Dr. Zhou exclaimed, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "What brings you here today?"

Chen Yang's tone was laced with bitterness. "Just needed a break from the chaos outside. You know how it is."

Dr. Zhou nodded sympathetically. "I do. But don't let the stress get to you. You're one of the best young doctors I know."

Chen Yang's eyes narrowed. "Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I'm not sure I deserve it. Lately, it feels like everyone's against me."

Dr. Zhou's expression turned serious. "Ah, you must be talking about Lin Xuan's... little stunt. I heard it was a real shock to everyone at the hospital."

Chen Yang's grip on the table tightened. "That's an understatement. I still can't believe it."

Dr. Zhou leaned in, his voice low and conspiratorial. "I heard rumors about Lin Xuan's involvement with the hospital's board members. Looks like he was trying to curry favor with the wrong crowd."

Chen Yang's eyes widened in shock. "You mean he was trying to sabotage me on purpose?"

Dr. Zhou nodded. "It seems that way. But don't worry, Chen Yang. You'll come out of this stronger and wiser. Just remember, in this game, you can't let the others dictate your moves."

Chen Yang's thoughts were racing. He felt a surge of determination and a hint of anger. He knew that he had to take a stand and fight back. But against whom? And how?

As he left the café, the city's bright lights and bustling streets seemed to mock him. He felt like he was walking into the unknown, with only his own wits to guide him. But he was ready to face whatever lay ahead, fueled by a burning desire for revenge and a determination to reclaim his place in the medical world.

And as he disappeared into the night, a single question echoed in his mind: what would be the price of Lin Xuan's betrayal?
