**107章:暗流的渊源**

Chen Yang's voice was like a knife, cutting through the silence and piercing Lin Xuan's very soul. Lin Xuan's eyes, once bright with self-assurance, now trembled with a mixture of fear and desperation.

"Tell me, what is it that you're hiding?" Chen Yang's grip on Lin Xuan's wrist remained unyielding, his fingers digging deep into the man's skin.

Lin Xuan's face twisted in a mixture of anguish and panic. "I-I didn't mean to hurt anyone," he stammered, his voice barely audible.

Chen Yang's eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing. "You didn't mean to? That's a pretty lame excuse, Lin Xuan. You're not even trying to hide the truth anymore."

The two men stood there, suspended in a moment of tense silence. Chen Yang's eyes seemed to burn with an unspoken intensity, while Lin Xuan's eyes pleaded for mercy.

Just as it seemed like Lin Xuan was about to crack under the pressure, a commotion erupted outside. The hospital's director, Wang Jing, burst into the room, her face a picture of panic.

"Chen Yang, what's going on here?" she demanded, her voice trembling with urgency.

Chen Yang's grip on Lin Xuan's wrist relaxed, but his eyes never left the man's face. "Just having a little chat with Lin Xuan here, Director Wang," he drawled, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

Wang Jing's eyes flicked between the two men, her face pale with alarm. "Chen Yang, what have you done now?" she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Chen Yang's smile was like a razor's edge. "Just uncovering the truth, Director Wang. You know how it is."

But Wang Jing's eyes were already flashing with alarm, her mind racing with the implications of what was happening. She knew that Chen Yang's reputation was already tenuous at best, and this latest scandal was just the tip of the iceberg.

"Chen Yang, you need to let Lin Xuan go," she demanded, her voice firm but trembling.

Chen Yang's eyes flashed with anger, but he didn't move. "Oh, I think I'll let Lin Xuan go," he drawled, his voice dripping with menace. "But not before I get the truth out of him."

And with that, he tightened his grip on Lin Xuan's wrist, his eyes burning with an unspoken intensity. The room seemed to darken, filled with an air of foreboding and dread.

As the tension mounted, Lin Xuan's eyes went wide with fear, his face pale with terror. Wang Jing's eyes were frozen on the scene before her, her mind reeling with the implications of what was happening.

And Chen Yang, the once-innocent medical student, now seemed to have become a force of nature, unstoppable and ruthless in his pursuit of the truth.

But as the darkness closed in, a glimmer of light appeared on the horizon. A figure, shrouded in shadows, watched from the sidelines, their eyes fixed on Chen Yang with an unspoken understanding.

And in that moment, the world seemed to tilt, as if the very fabric of reality was about to unravel.
